Primm Valley Casino Resort Is Saved

Primm Is Saved! Why Our Family Is Celebrating This Last-Minute Deal

Okay, I have to be honest with you. When I heard that the Primm Nevada casino scene was closing, I cried a little. I know that sounds dramatic, “Primm has always held a really special place in our family’s heart, and I’ve never actually talked about it here before, so let me fix that right now. So when the news came through this week that it’s actually been saved? I dropped everything and wrote this bonus post, because we had to talk about it.

Let me back up for anyone just tuning in.

What Happened With Primm

Primm Valley was the last of the three casinos still operating at Primm. Whiskey Pete’s had already been closed for nearly 18 months, and Buffalo Bill’s shut down at the end of 2025. Then in early May, the news got even worse. The previous operator, Affinity Interactive, revealed plans to permanently cease operations of Primm Valley Resorts, the Primm Center, and the Flying J truck stop, with the action expected to result in the loss of jobs for all employees. The final closure date was set for July 4th. A ghost town by Independence Day. It felt so wrong. The Nevada IndependentInterGame Online

But then, yesterday morning, we woke up to the best news. The Primm family signed a new agreement with Las Vegas-based Terrible’s to operate its hotel-casino and related properties in Primm, Nevada, preventing the planned July 4 closure. The agreement renewed a partnership between two prominent Nevada families with a storied history of running successful businesses. Hotel Online8 News Now

Why Our Family Loves Primm So Much

For us, Primm has always been one of those places that feels like a little tradition. Back in the day, we would make the drive out there specifically for the outlet mall. And I mean when it was actually full of stores. It was such a fun little road trip that felt like so much more than just shopping. You’d grab a snack, wander the outlets, and it just turned into a whole thing.

We’ve also stayed at the casino, and there is something genuinely fun about it. It’s not the Strip. It’s quieter, it’s a little retro, and it has its own charm that I think gets underrated because it’s so close to Las Vegas.

And then there’s my in-laws. They are Primm people through and through. The Lotto Store is basically sacred to them. Every time we’d make a trip out there, they’d spend time at the casino and make a beeline for the lotto. It became part of what Primm meant to our family.

So yeah, when the closure was announced, we were genuinely sad. It felt like losing a little piece of our family’s Nevada story.

What’s Coming Next for Primm

Here’s what really has me excited. This isn’t just a “keep the lights on” deal. The two families plan to renovate the resort, upgrade traveler amenities and dining options, and reimagine Primm as a premier destination for tourists, truck drivers, and local residents. Hotel Online

Primm’s best days are still ahead. I genuinely believe that.

A special Nevada Gaming Control Board meeting is already scheduled for June 25, with a Nevada Gaming Commission meeting later that day to consider the licensing necessary for Terrible’s to take over the Primm operations. Things are moving fast and in the right direction. Review Journal
