5 Must Haves When Your Child Has a Cold
Cold and flu season is upon us. That means DJ & Brooklyn are constantly getting the sniffles or a cough. Now that I’ve been a Mom for four years I have my holy grail products for dealing with a cold. I wanted to share those with you. These are my 5 must haves when your child has a cold.

5 Must Haves When Your Child Has a Cold
1 Vapor Rub
Vicks Vaporub Children’s is one of my favorites. I think it’s just the nostalgia of using Vicks since that’s what my Mom used on me.
Another vapor rub that I love is the Zarbee’s Naturals Baby Soothing Chest Rub. I used this when DJ and Brooklyn were under two. Actually, I still try to use this on Brooklyn, because of her eczema.
2 Cool Mist Humidifier
I love the Vicks cool mist humidifier. It projects stars onto the ceiling to give a nice night light while it’s being used. We use the cool mist instead of the warm mist, because that is what our pediatrician recommends.
3 Sore Throat Lollipops
We first tried the Halls Kids Cough and Sore Throat Pops last winter when DJ was three. They definitely did help, and I make sure that I stock up right before cold and flu season begins.
The Lolleez Organic Throat Soothing Pops for Kids are another great option. I picked these up this year, because they had some different flavors. If you’re looking for an organic option these are awesome. They’re also flat instead of round like the Halls ones. This made me feel more comfortable giving them to Brooklyn.
4 Nasal Aspirator
I have used the NoseFrida as long as I can remember now. It’s amazing. It definitely seems gross, but I promise you it’s not. A regular bulb nose aspirator always ends in tears, and I never get everything out. The NoseFrida gets out all the grossness very quickly. When DJ has RSV and Pneumonia a little over three years ago it was a lifesaver. We had to make sure his nose was always clear, and this made us be able to clear it out fast.
5 Vapor Bath
The Oilogic Stuffy Nose & Cough Vapor Bath is a new add to my cough and cold kit. I actually tried this out for a sponsored post for Instagram. I’m not being paid to post about it now though. I genuinely love it. Brooklyn had croup and the flu earlier this week. White I gave her a bath with this stuff she completely decongested. This is one of my new favorite to add to their bubble bath when they’ve got a cold.

I am a pharmacist and I fully agree! There’s not much you can do when your kids have colds but you hit the nail right on the head here
