DJ’s 5th Birthday

I cannot believe DJ is officially five. I don’t know where the time has gone. It feels like just yesterday I was holding a brand new newborn in my arms. Now he’s a big boy. I am so proud of everything he’s learned and done in the last five years. DJ’s 5th birthday party was Minecraft themed. He was in heaven. He’s currently Minecraft obsessed. This year was definitely a little different from normal since we are in the middle of a pandemic. I still wanted him to have a great birthday either way.

My main goal was to make sure I had green every where. In addition, I wanted to have actual Minecraft decorations. I bought a bunch of them at Target.

The next step was to make sure their was food to fit the Minecraft theme. I made rice creeper treats, health heart watermelon, brownie “dirt,” and got a cake that was green and brown. I topped the cake with Minecraft toys. I’m going to have an upcoming blog post with a recipe for the rice creeper treats. They were a huge hit.

All in all DJ’s 5th birthday was awesome. He had a great time and loved everything. Honestly, that is all that matters to me. All I wanted was to make him happy.
