Father’s Day Footsteps Craft
With Father’s Day this weekend I wanted to make sure the kids got their gift for David done. I wanted to do something we haven’t done yet before. However, I wanted it to be something that showing their age for the future. After thinking for a little I remember a craft we did back when I was a preschool teacher. It was a Father’s Day footsteps craft. We took an adult male’s show and traced it. We had the students cut it out, and then step on the cut out show print with their painted foot. Children’s Book of the Week: ABC See, Hear, Do: Learn to Read 55 Words
The book this week is a bit different. ABC See, Hear, Do: Learn to Read 55 Words is an educational book. David & I have decided to start teaching DJ how to read. He will be 4 at the end of August, but we believe he’s ready to learn to read and write now. Honestly, we aren’t that far into the book, but he is already making progress. I have the book on his iPad using Kindle Unlimited, but we are going to buy the physical copy soon. Children’s Book of the Week: Day Dreamers by Emily Winfield Martin
This week’s book of the week is one of Brooklyn’s favorites. Brooklyn loves all things magical, and this week’s book is definitely just that. Day Dreamers by Emily Winfield Martin is a beautiful and magical book. This post contains affiliate links. I may earn a small commission off of your purchase at no additional cost to you. Day Dreamers by Emily Winfield Martin You can definitely tell how much we read this book by the wear and tear. Not that it matters, Brooklyn still asks me to read it all the time. DJ really loves the book too, but not as much as Brooklyn. Her favorite part is the unicorn…

Book of the Week: Can You Tell Me How to Get to Sesame Street? by Eleanor Hudson
This week’s book of the weeks is Can You Tell Me How to Get to Sesame Street? by Eleanor Hudson. They love Elmo a lot. Which makes this book a huge hit. My Mom actually got this book for DJ and Brooklyn at Kohl’s a while back. One of the things I love about this book in particulate is that my mom bought it at Kohl’s, because it was part of their Kohl’s Cares program. That mean 100% of the new profit was donated to childcare’s initiatives in communities nationwide. This story follows Elmo around as he is up in the sky after being flown into the air while flying a…

Small Business Saturday: DSigner
I’ve decided to start a new series on my blog called Small Business Saturday. I know that is already a thing, but I wanted to showcase local Las Vegas businesses, and online businesses. My goal is to have a new one up every Saturday, but for now I will have one up whenever I have a new business to share with you all. DSigner Last month I was at Foodie Fest with my family, and got the opportunity to meet and do a short interview with Dylan Sanglay. He is the founder DSigner. He sells new and used trendy items online, and gives a percentage back to the homeless community.…

Children’s Book of the Week: Bear & Hare Share! by Emily Gravett
I started a new series on my blog in the middle of March called the book of the week, and then I never posted a never book of the week again. I’d call that a huge fail. I’m back on it now though, and you’ll definitely be getting a consistent book of the week every single week. I’m sticking to children’s books for now until I find a book that I really love. My goal is to hopefully have an adult book of the week around once a month. That will give me enough time to actually find one I love, read it, and write a good post about it.…

Family Friendly Las Vegas: The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat
Last month my Mom came to visit. Whenever she is here we always stay on the Las Vegas Strip as a family. Check out my tips for staying on the strip with young children. One of our favorite things to take the kids to is the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat. I always liked going before having DJ and Brooklyn, but now I love it even more. There is something so magical about seeing something through your little one’s eyes. It is definitely going to be somewhere we go at least once or twice a year when my Mom comes into town. The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat is located at the Flamingo Hotel…

Book of the Week: Lionheart by Richard Collingridge
This is the first post in my new weekly series. It is going to be my book of the week series. The plan is going to be to post every Tuesday. It’s going to be a mix of children’s books, and books that I have recently read. I’m starting off this series with a children’s book called Lionheart by Richard Collingridge. It’s one of the books DJ asks me to read to him before he goes to sleep for his nap. He usually has a different book or two for bedtime. This post contains affiliate links.
