Children’s Book of the Week: Day Dreamers by Emily Winfield Martin

This week’s book of the week is one of Brooklyn’s favorites. Brooklyn loves all things magical, and this week’s book is definitely just that. Day Dreamers by Emily Winfield Martin is a beautiful and magical book. This post contains affiliate links. I may earn a small commission off of your purchase at no additional cost to you. Day Dreamers by Emily Winfield Martin You can definitely tell how much we read this book by the wear and tear. Not that it matters, Brooklyn still asks me to read it all the time. DJ really loves the book too, but not as much as Brooklyn. Her favorite part is the unicorn…

Children’s Book of the Week: Bear & Hare Share! by Emily Gravett

I started a new series on my blog in the middle of March called the book of the week, and then I never posted a never book of the week again. I’d call that a huge fail. I’m back on it now though, and you’ll definitely be getting a consistent book of the week every single week. I’m sticking to children’s books for now until I find a book that I really love. My goal is to hopefully have an adult book of the week around once a month. That will give me enough time to actually find one I love, read it, and write a good post about it.…

Family Friendly Las Vegas: The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat

Last month my Mom came to visit. Whenever she is here we always stay on the Las Vegas Strip as a family. Check out my tips for staying on the strip with young children. One of our favorite things to take the kids to is the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat. I always liked going before having DJ and Brooklyn, but now I love it even more. There is something so magical about seeing something through your little one’s eyes. It is definitely going to be somewhere we go at least once or twice a year when my Mom comes into town. The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat is located at the Flamingo Hotel…

We Were Surprised with a Puppy!

On Sunday David and I went to the supermarket. We left the little ones with his parents. When we came back DJ came running towards us screaming “LOOK AT FLUFFY!” David & I looked at each other thinking what in the world is a fluffy? Turns out it was the cutest little fluff ball of a puppy. It turns out that we were surprised with a puppy by David’s parents. Their friend’s dog had puppies on Christmas Eve. I cannot believe we were surprised with a puppy! Definitely the best surprise I’ve ever had. Meet Fluffy- yes, DJ named him. David’s Dad told us that when they asked DJ what the…

    Michaels Kids Club

I’m always looking for new things to do with DJ & Brooklyn that is both fun and inexpensive. I want to take them to different places. I finally listened to my friend about going to the Michaels Kids Club on Saturday. It was definitely a lot of fun. They have two different crafts depending on the age group. When we went the theme was hedgehogs. DJ was ecstatic. Every Saturday from 10 am to noon Michaels has their Kids Club. They have a 3+ craft for $2 and a 6+ craft for $5. We did the 3+ hedgehog craft for DJ, and they gave Brooklyn markers and paper to color.…

Tips For Staying On The Las Vegas Strip With Young Children

Living in Las Vegas with two toddlers has given me a lot of first hand experience with staying at hotels on the Las Vegas Strip with young children. My family loves to have little staycations, and we tend to get a lot of comp nights on the Strip. Also, when my Mom comes into town we tend to spend most of our time on the Strip. We went from going without kids, to going with one baby, to now going with two toddlers. I have found that while it can be a bit more of a hassle at times, it’s actually pretty easy to have a good time and have…

Family Friendly Las Vegas | Fractured Prune

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to finally go the Fractured Prune. I definitely believe that coming here is a must, especially if you’re like me & my little ones, and LOVE donuts. Fractured Prune’s donuts are delicious. I was so impressed. They make all donuts to order, however you want. You fill out a sheet with how many donuts you want. You can choose from their list of options or customize them however you see fit with the glazes and toppings that they have. I’m actually so upset that somehow I misplaced our sheet, and can’t find the picture I took. I tried at least one bite…

3 Strawberry Summer Treats For Toddlers

I don’t know about you, but strawberries scream summertime. Both DJ & Brooklyn love strawberries. I figured now would be the perfect time to start making strawberry related treats for them. Everything I’ve made is extremely easy. Here is my list of 3 strawberry summer treats for toddlers. 3 Strawberry Summer Treats For Toddlers Strawberry Vanilla Rice Krispies Treats 1 10 oz bag strawberry marshmallows 5 Cups Rice Krispies cereal 1 tsp Vanilla Extract 1/4 Country Crock (you can use anything, this is just what I had on hand) Melt butter/country crock in a pot. Pour butter into a large bowl. Mix marshmallows into butter until almost smooth. Add vanilla…

Two Under Two Is A Good Thing.

I know there is a lot of stigma around having 2 under 2. I remember finding out I was pregnant with Brooklyn when DJ was only 8 months old, and I panicked. He was only 16 months old when she was born. Now that I’m out of the 2 under 2 club, I truly believe two under two is a good thing. I know, you probably think I’m crazy. How is having two under two a good thing? You’ll have to trust me on this one. Now maybe it’s just that it was a good thing for me. Every child is different, as is every family. For my family though,…
