    Churro Bites

One of my favorite sweet foods is Churros. I always thought they would be hard to make. This led me to only ever eating them at a fair or Del Taco. The other day I really wanted some, and I really didn’t want to have to leave my house to get them. I decided that it was time I learned how to make churros. The best part is that it was actually quite simple to make. However, I did run into an issue. I didn’t have a piping bag or a star tip. Luckily, I was able to use a large ziplock bag, but no matter how many times I tried…

    Homemade NY Style Pizza

One of the things that I hate about not living in New York is pizza. Pizza in New York just tastes better. David & I have searched for delicious pizza all over Las Vegas. We found one or two places we do like. It’s no surprise the owners of those two are from New York. Unfortunately, those two places are not the cheapest. David decided he was going to figure out to make our own pizza, and he even wrote a book. You can get it for free with Kindle Unlimited (first month free).  I wanted to share with you my favorite homemade NY style pizza recipe from his book.…

    Mini Cupcake Tin Lava Cakes

One of my absolute favorite desserts to have at a restaurant is a lava cake. I really wanted to try to make them at home, but I knew how much of a mess it would be for my little ones to eat. After thinking about it for a little while, I came up with the idea for mini cupcake tin lava cakes. Luckily, they came out exactly as I hope they would. They had that delicious lava cake flavor and center, but it was so tiny there wasn’t too much ooze and mess. One thing I loved was how easy it was to make these lava cakes. The whole process…

    Beer Battered Lobster Tails

Last weekend David & I were at the Venetian, and tried a fried lobster tail on a stick. It was absolutely delicious, but not really realistic at $17 per lobster tail. David decided he was going to make them at home, and see if they lived up to the ones at the Venetian. I won’t lie, I definitely like David’s beer battered lobster tails even more. Especially with some lemon and butter. David started out by heating oil in a pan, and then he tackled taking the lobster tails out of their shells. While David tackled the shells, he had me mix cornstarch, flour, parsley, salt, garlic powder, and half…

    Shepard’s Pie

Happy day 14 of Blogmas! This week I made Shepard’s pie for my family. They loved it. Honestly while it was delicious, I definitely made a few mistakes. I still wanted to share this recipe with all of you though. I used ground beef, which technically makes this more of a cottage pie; however, people use the term shepard’s pie for both ground beef and lamb. Truthfully, I love lamb. I would have used it if everyone in the house liked lamb. That isn’t the case though. This post contains affiliate links. Oatmeal Cookie Mix Gift

I remember when I was little I received chocolate chip cookie mix in a mason jar as a gift. I thought that this year I could make this gift for somebody else. Instead of chocolate chip I decided I’d make an oatmeal cookie mix gift. I really loved how easy it was to make, and now I want to make a whole bunch of them for people David works with. This post contains affiliate links. I may earn a small commission off of your purchase at no additional cost to you. I started out with a basic oatmeal cookie recipe, and layered all of the dry ingredients. The recipe that I…

    Easy Pumpkin Pie Truffles

We are officially a few days away from Thanksgiving! I’m not ready for pumpkin season to be over, but I’m extremely ready for the holiday season. I made pumpkin pie truffles over this past weekend. I wanted to make sure I had as much pumpkin as possible before Thanksgiving. They were a huge hit. David didn’t like them, but he doesn’t count. He hates sweets. Since they were so popular, I decided to share them with you. Items used: Food Processor Mixing Bowl Wilton’s White Candy Melts Pumpkin Spice Truffles To start out, I put 9 graham cracker sheets in my food processor, and pulsed until they were a ground up finely.…

    Mini Individual Apple Crumble Pies

Now that it’s the fall, I seem to have an abundance of apples from apple picking. One great way to use up those apples is to bake with them. I decided to look for a new way to make apple pie, and I found a great one in my Harry Potter Unofficial Cookbook. I found one for mini individual apple crumble pies. While I did use the recipe in the cookbook as a guide, I did improvise a tiny bit with the filling. I used four granny smith apples, instead of two granny smith & two gala apples. Also, I had a bit a trouble with my crust.. because I…

Extra Chocolatey Brownies with Salted Caramel Drizzle

Now that fall has arrived it’s time my baking hits high gear. I was really wanting to making brownies, because for some reason this is the hardest thing for me to master still. However, I wanted to incorporate a little bit of fall flavor into my brownies. Which is how I came up with brownies with salted caramel drizzle. Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. Baked Chicken Tenders

One of DJ’s current favorite foods is chicken nuggets. I decided that I wanted to find a way to make them from home. Well, I made baked chicken tenders instead of chicken nuggets. There wasn’t really any good reason for it. Honestly, I just happened to buy pre chopped up chicken breast. I decided to leave the chicken in whatever shape it was chopped into when I bought it. You could always make this recipe into nuggets by cutting the chicken breast into a nugget shape. This recipe is really versatile. You could honestly fry the nuggets in a pan with oil if you wanted. This is a very easy…
