    Baked Chicken Tenders

One of DJ’s current favorite foods is chicken nuggets. I decided that I wanted to find a way to make them from home. Well, I made baked chicken tenders instead of chicken nuggets. There wasn’t really any good reason for it. Honestly, I just happened to buy pre chopped up chicken breast. I decided to leave the chicken in whatever shape it was chopped into when I bought it. You could always make this recipe into nuggets by cutting the chicken breast into a nugget shape. This recipe is really versatile. You could honestly fry the nuggets in a pan with oil if you wanted. This is a very easy…

    Toddler Approved Cheddar Lasagna

Having an almost three year old means having a picky eater. I remember the days when he would eat whatever we gave him, just like Brooklyn now. One of the few things DJ is obsessed with is cheddar cheese. We try to add it to as many dishes as we can. The first time my husband made lasagna since DJ became a picky eater he wouldn’t eat it. The next time he made it with cheddar cheese instead of the mozzarella, and he loved it. I know this isn’t an authentic lasagna, but if that is what you want you can just substitute cheese. This is my husband’s recipe for…

    Turkey and Pork Cheesey Meatballs

I have a bad habit of always cooking the same things for dinner. Even though I’m a stay at home mom I find it makes the day go smoother if I just cook one of my same simple meals. After David & I had a discussion the other day about me mixing it up, I decided to try to make something he made one Thanksgiving for me while I was pregnant with Brooklyn, and had gestational diabetes… Turkey and Pork Cheesey Meatballs! This post contains an affiliate link. Please check the sidebar for more information. I’ve been thinking about making these since he made them Thanksgiving 2016. That’s a long…

    Graham Cracker Toffee

I’ve been in a rut recently, and decided to make a special treat for my family as a thank you for everything they do. Even my little ones do more for me than they even realize. I decided to break out my Great American Home Baking book and find something that was easy & sweet. I decided on the Graham Cracker Toffee. Of course I had to edit the recipe slightly to how I wanted to make it. It was a hit though! It definitely is sweet, so I hope you have a sweet tooth. First things first, I gathered all my ingredients. The only thing I didn’t gather was the water.…

Family Friendly Las Vegas | Fractured Prune

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to finally go the Fractured Prune. I definitely believe that coming here is a must, especially if you’re like me & my little ones, and LOVE donuts. Fractured Prune’s donuts are delicious. I was so impressed. They make all donuts to order, however you want. You fill out a sheet with how many donuts you want. You can choose from their list of options or customize them however you see fit with the glazes and toppings that they have. I’m actually so upset that somehow I misplaced our sheet, and can’t find the picture I took. I tried at least one bite…

    Dominican Sofrito

One “ingredient” that is a staple in my house is Dominican sofrito. My husband is Dominican, and his family uses it to season all different kinds of meat. His family doesn’t actually call is sofrito, they call it sazon. This post contains affiliate links. I may make a small commission at no additional cost to you. For more information check the sidebar. The Process: I start out my chopping up all the ingredients, except the cilantro, garlic, Goya packet, and one stalk of celery. My husband likes to use the stalk of celery to push the ingredients down. Once everything is chopped, I add the peppers, onions, garlic, celery, and…

    Cookie Butter Buttercream

I have a huge sweet tooth. I’ve said it before in a previous post. Cupcakes are the easiest thing to make, so I decided I’d bake some. While trying to figure out what kind of frosting to make, I saw I had a whole jar of Cookie Butter. I already had a regular buttercream recipe from Culinary Arts, so I tweaked it. This is how Cookie Butter buttercream was born. Cookie Butter Buttercream The first thing I did was add he softened butter into my Kitchen Aid and turn the mixer on low to smooth out. I add the Vanilla, and mixed until combined, followed by adding the cookie butter…

3 Strawberry Summer Treats For Toddlers

I don’t know about you, but strawberries scream summertime. Both DJ & Brooklyn love strawberries. I figured now would be the perfect time to start making strawberry related treats for them. Everything I’ve made is extremely easy. Here is my list of 3 strawberry summer treats for toddlers. 3 Strawberry Summer Treats For Toddlers Strawberry Vanilla Rice Krispies Treats 1 10 oz bag strawberry marshmallows 5 Cups Rice Krispies cereal 1 tsp Vanilla Extract 1/4 Country Crock (you can use anything, this is just what I had on hand) Melt butter/country crock in a pot. Pour butter into a large bowl. Mix marshmallows into butter until almost smooth. Add vanilla…

    Classic Shortbread Cookies

I love to bake. I try not to bake very often, because otherwise the only foods I’d be eating are baked goods. However, on Thursday I was craving shortbread cookies. I don’t know how to makes them from scratch, so I grabbed a recipe out of my Great American Home Baking book. This recipe is extremely easy. The recipe says to use an electric mixer, but I just used my Kitchen Aid stand mixer David got me for Christmas 2 years ago. Instead of parchment paper I used aluminum foil. I prefer my cookies, and other baked goods, to have a more rustic homemade feel to them. The recipe calls…

    Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen

This past Valentine’s Day David surprised me with a trip to Hell’s Kitchen. We both love Gordon Ramsay which made this one of the best surprises. David has definitely watched more than me, I’m pretty sure he has watched every single season. I’m a few seasons behind. When you first walk up you see the Hell’s Kitchen symbol. The wall when walk through the doors has photos of all the past season’s winners. The service was excellent and we didn’t encounter one rude person in the restaurant.   I didn’t get any pictures of the kitchen area, it was split down the middle red and blue just like the show.…
